Okay, let’s talk about chat bots. This is one of the best things to happen this year, really, thanks to Open AI, who released Chat GPT and all of their large language model technology. We’re now able to create amazing chat bots that can help customers. So let’s go over exactly what they are. A chat bot is basically just a computer program designed to simulate a human conversation. When we speak to Chat GPT, it responds in a very human-like manner, which is one of the magical aspects of using Chat GPT. This translates straight into a chat bot as well, because it’s powered by the same technology. Chat bots use AI Natural Language Processing (NLP) to understand what people type in and then respond in a conversational, natural manner.

They have applications across industries and can help with numerous things. In this lesson, we will discuss their use but the tutorial on setting them up will be covered in the next lesson. You can use chat bots for various tasks, such as assisting people on their website, providing personalized recommendations, especially if you’ve got an e-commerce website, and more.

You can even program them to be an expert in any one topic and to respond only to inquiries related to that topic. They can be trained on your data and respond only to questions related to that data. So there are many great things that you can do with chat bots. They are powered by Open AI’s technology, and we can use Chat GPT versions 3.5 or 4 to power the chat bot. With the software that I’m going to be recommending in this training, you will be able to choose which version you use. That is, of course, if you yourself have access to the API for Open AI’s version 4.0. At the time of making this video, version 4 is out, and I believe most people should have access to it via the API.

Regarding data collection and insights, if you’ve got a chat bot that interacts with your potential or actual customers all the time, that information is recorded. This includes what they’re saying, what questions they’re asking, how they’re responding, and more. You can use this data to further improve your website. For example, if someone’s constantly asking, ‘How much does it cost?’ or ‘Where can I find this product?’ you might need to make that information more prominent on your site. We can use the data collected by chat bots operating 24/7 to help us improve our product, services, and website layout.

The major benefits of chat bots are many. They provide 24/7 customer service, can communicate in every language, and have extensive knowledge about your business. They can operate round the clock, offering customer support even when your staff are not available. There’s an efficiency and cost-saving aspect here because they can handle multiple inquiries simultaneously, which is very difficult for a human to do. They also ensure consistent and accurate responses, whereas humans might provide variations in their responses even after training.

With the software that I’m going to be recommending, you’ll be able to look through the chats that have taken place. If you see that the chat bot has answered a particular question in a way that you don’t approve of, you can retrain it for that specific question. So, in other words, it just gets better and better all the time.

Another benefit is improved customer engagement. Chat bots are very good at keeping customers engaged longer because they provide fast and insightful responses. This encourages interaction. If a live chat agent takes too long to respond, it can be frustrating and customers might leave the chat. But an AI-powered chat bot responds rapidly.
