SEO (Search Engine Optimisation)

Chat GPT can be your personal search engine optimisation assistant and help you get more organic traffic to your websites.

Welcome to the SEO module. So in this module, we’re going to talk all about search engine optimization and how you can use Chat GPT to really assist you with getting more organic traffic to your websites or sales funnels. So what is the purpose of SEO? Just for anybody who’s not totally sure what SEO means, it is, as I say, the goal of SEO to drive more organic traffic to a website which can lead to increased brand awareness, higher conversion rates, and ultimately more money, which is great. That’s what we want to do. And I really have focused on this. I’ve been doing this now for 20 years. God, that sounds so long. But yeah, I literally started off creating a hotel directory years ago. And SEO was a huge part of that success. I didn’t use any paid ads, and I think there even was paid ads back in the very beginning there. Took a while for Google to start doing that. And then also I’ve used it for multiple different e-commerce stores over the years and ranked number one in some very competitive niches for a very long time. So SEO is really a great tool.

It’s a slow thing in order to generate traffic. Don’t expect to produce a new website, use SEO, and then suddenly expect to rank top 10 on Google. It’s not going to happen. There’s loads of other elements to it other than just optimizing your site. And we’re going to cover it in this training. So I really hope you find this valuable. And let’s move on. So how can chat GPT help you? The first thing it can do is to optimize any content you’ve got on your website right now in terms of rewriting it to help you rank for a specific keyword. And also it can create new content. If you’ve already done our training on blog posts, you’ll know this, but you can create really good SEO friendly content using Chat GPT, particularly with chat GPT 4 and using the right style and tones. And remember, we’ve got a cheat sheet for those prompts as well and all of the different tones and styles. The other thing it can do is produce meta tags. If you don’t know what meta tags are, they are basically what is shown usually in Google. It’s the title of your page, your web page, and then the description of that page.

They have to be an exact certain length in order to show it all in Google. And good old chat, GPT is brilliant at coming up with good titles for your meta tags that are both interesting for a human to see. If they saw it in the search results, they’d want to click on it. But it also includes the keyword that you want to rank for, which is important for ranking purposes. And the same goes for descriptions as well. And so it’s very important to go through and make sure all the meta tags are done on your website or landing pages. Proofreading. It’s really good for any content that you have on your site. If you just want to proofread it, you’re happy with it. Maybe you’re ranking well already with that page, you don’t really want to mess that up. But there are some grammar and spelling mistakes in there. You can just copy the content from the site, paste it into chat GPT and say, Please proofread the following. Likewise, it’s also very good for translation of content too. It speaks numerous languages and so you can take your website and your content and create a different version for a different market in their language too.

So it’s good on so many levels for SEO. The other thing it can do is featured snippets. And we’re going to have a good look at how you do this because this is something that many people won’t do because it’s too complicated. But chat GPT will make it simple for you. And hopefully in this training, I’ll make it simple to implement and get you more traffic and more real estate at the top of Google. Keyword research. Now, we’re going to talk about keyword research because at the time of doing this video training right now, which is March the 27th of 2023, you cannot connect to the web. Even though GPT 4 is live now, GPT 4 is not connecting to the web, even though it says it will. It isn’t right now. Plugins have been announced, but they’re not implemented. And if you try saying, Hey, can you read this web page in Chat GPT right now? It won’t do it. And also, there’s a whole load of reasons why you shouldn’t use it for keyword research, but it is really good to help you discover new niches and angles at getting traffic to your website that you hadn’t really thought of.

In some cases, let’s just say you were selling flat screen TVs. You were aiming all of your traffic and all of your SEO efforts at flat screen TVs. You might not have thought, well, people who are into home entertainment systems or stereo systems would also be interested. So you can create content on that second niche that would also bring in the same people who would be interested in replacing their TV. So things like that. It’s really good at helping you discover all the angles you can get traffic from for your particular business, but you cannot rely on it for keyword data. So this is exactly the point right here. It does not have keyword data in terms of search volumes, difficulty to rank for, and all of that stuff. At this point, chat activity cannot connect to the web and so should not be relied upon to provide accurate, up to date information. And you still need keyword tools to find that information out. There’s a lot of plug ins available for third party plugins not to actually go straight into chat gbt. These are things like ARPRM and things like that where people are producing prompts that scour through chat.

Gpt and ask it for loads of keywords and things. But as I’m going to show you in a moment, you cannot rely on it. You cannot rely on it. All it’s doing is just going through its vast data and plucking out relevant keywords due to its understanding of the English languageand presenting them to you. What it’s not doing is it’s not able to say how hard it is to rank on Google for that because it doesn’t have all of that information. So let’s just show you an example of a couple of things here then. If we go to chat GPT right now and I’m just going to… What I’ve done here, this is how I would use it for keyword research, okay? I would ask it to give you a list of top level topics that would be good to create keywords for. And that’s the prompt that I’ve put in here. Can you generate… I’ll just zoom in there for you. Can you generate a list of top level topics that it would be good to create keywords for? My website, and then you’ve got to tell it what you’re about, what you’re trying to sell, your service, your product.

And we’ll put this into a prompts spreadsheet, which again will be available underneath this training video. My website sells a software as a service that enables people to build websites and sales funnels themselves using drag and drop. I put drag and drop. That’s what happens when you speak your prompts sometimes. But put the information in an easy to understand table. And there it is. So we’ve got our main topic. So website building, an obvious one. Sales funnel creation, obvious. Drag and drop. Website template. That’s a good sub niche where I could promote all of the templates that are available and try and pull people into my business that way. Ecommerce, that’s another feature of fast funnels, what I’m talking about here. Search engine optimization, analytics, all of these different facets that would bring in relevant people to my landing page or site. And also you can literally create dedicated landing pages for all of these different topics. But let’s take some of these keywords that it suggested here. Let’s just take, I’m going to now ask it to create a list of long tail keywords for the topic of website building. So let’s do that.

I’m going to show you what the real deal is with these keywords. Produce a list of keywords for the topic of website building that I am most likely to be able to rank on Google for. Okay, let’s see what it does here now. And I’m going to show you how convincing this is. You can see here. Oh, yeah, these look really good. Drag and drop website builder. Wow, why didn’t I think of that? And so on. Yeah, website builder for small businesses. They are good. They are convincing. But there’s some caveats with this. So I’m going to take this list of keywords right here, and I’m going to go to SEO. T, which there’s a link for underneath here as well. I’ve been using this for a little while now. They were on AppSummer originally, but if they’re not now, they’re still very good value. So you can have a look at their website. But here’s one of these sections on their system here is the Keyword Research section. You can enter keywords and then go and have a little look and see how competitive they are and how much search volume they are. So I’m going to copy this keyword as an example, the drag and drop website builder, copy, and then go over to here, paste it in.

And then let’s just go and see how good a keyword that would be. And it’s got drag and drop website builder there. So it’s saying that… This is really good new feature, by the way, of SEO. It gives you the intent of the keyword. Again, this is not something that you can rely on for ChatGPT to tell you either. Even though there are plug ins out there that will pull it all in, then it’s not accurate and it does not get the keyword intent all the time, about 50 50. So this is commercial intent. So that’s somebody looking who is a potential buyer. But you can see this one here is a keyword difficulty of 58. That’s pretty hard. It’s not red, but it’s pretty hard. But what you do have from this, by putting in that initial keyword in here, is we can always change the keyword difficulty to go from easy to hard. Now, all of these are pretty tough, to be fair, but that would not necessarily be a good keyword for you to go and try and rank for. Let’s try this one here, website builder for small businesses. As another example, paste that in, do a little search.

There we go. So this one is an absolute no go. It’s a keyword difficulty of 68. Albe it does have commercial intent, which is good. That means it’s someone who’s looking to buy this. But this was just recommended to me by them. It does say potentially ranked 4 on Google, but chatGBT has recommended that. And this is why you can’t really rely on it to give you a list of long tail keywords you can rank for like some miracle. You need current data and that’s what these tools are for, SEO data. You get other tools out there like Sem Rush. There’s also Ahref, Ahref F. There’s lots of other popular keyword tools that you can use to get current data and more accurate keyword difficulty data. But one thing I suppose that it does do is give you a starting point to go and find other keywords that may not be so difficult. And that’s why I tend to only use it for these top level things, which really give me a starting point to do deeper keyword research with. So there we are. That is that. And I’ll make sure that there’s the prompt in the spreadsheet, like I say.

And then future ways that Chat GPT will be able to help you, and we’ll update this training when that happens. But it is going to be able to connect to the Internet. We know that because we’ve already seen videos of it happening with their built in browser. So one of the plug ins that Chat GPT is going to have is it’s going to be a built in browser. You’re going to be able to have it go to a web page and collect data and information from it. So that’s coming. As soon as it does, life will be a lot easier. We’ll be able to just go and scan our own websites and create social media content from it and all sorts of amazing things. Data analysis. We’ve also seen how you can literally drop in a CSV into Chat GPT 4, and it will be able to analyze the data and put out an incredible bar chart if you want to, of all of the data. So the ability for it to connect to other software and analyze content is coming, and it’s coming really quickly, I believe. I mean, also with Zappier, so you’re probably going to be able to connect Chat GPT with Zappier to Google Analytics and ask it questions about your website traffic, like where are future opportunities?

Where should I be creating more content? Which page is the slowest loading? All of this stuff is coming. And so when that happens, again, we’ll update this section. But it’s definitely going to be able to connect to data sources, analyze that data, and then help you with regards to your SEO. So now let’s just go through and actually do some of these things that we’ve spoke about that ChatGBT can help with in terms of SEO. So here’s my site, the very site that you may have seen when you join this training program. And here’s this first paragraph of text. Now, if this was your website and your content, you can literally just copy it like this and then go over to chat GPT and say, Can you improve the following content to help me rank for the keyword search term chat GPT course? And then just paste in this. That’s the content and you can do the same for anything in yours. There you go. So now it’s going to go through there and I would imagine, yeah, it’s definitely going to be putting in course within there. There we go. So this is using chat GPT 3.5 because four is playing up a little bit today.

But it said here, here’s an improved version of your content optimized for chat GPT course, keyword search term. And it’s done. Are you tired of spending countless hours creating content and marketing your business without seeing the results you want? And I’m just looking through here. Our comprehensive course is designed to teach you everything you need to know. And then it’s mentioned course in there as well. And then obviously frequent references to chat GPT too. So I would be happy with that content and then now go and literally just copy that content. I can go to my website and then just go and literally change over that content by pasting it in right there. So that’s how you can use it to optimize your content for any given keyword, save, having to… Now, the next thing you can get it to do is to create your Meta title tag and your meta description again for that one page. So I’ll just prompt it up now. Can you create an SEO friendly meta title tag for the page that I’ve asked you to create content for? And also a meta description no more than 160 characters long.

Okay, here it goes. It’s picked up. It’s really good at understanding when you get language wrong, which is great because it says here, can you create an ISO friendly? So I’m sure the ISO, the petrol giants have got nothing to do with this. But there you go. Look at this title tag, chat GPT school, and then it’s done one of the little pipes there to separate the words. Streamline your content creation process with AI. Now, if it was me and I wanted to rank for chat GPT school, I would personally, or chat GPT course, I would definitely want to have that in that title. So you might want to adjust it. It’s not always perfect. And then the meta description is right there. It has got a learn how to use Chat GPT in there, which I like. And it’s also got a sign up today. So it’s got a call to action in there as well. So then you would literally just take this, say you wanted this description here, you can go and put it in your website. In my case here, I’m using fast funnels, of course. And then I would go to SEO info and then literally just paste it in there in my title and description tag area.

So that’s how you can get it to use meta titles and descriptions or create them for you for your site. And next up, we’re going to have a look at featured snippets. Now, these are pretty amazing in terms of how much real estate they can give you on Google. So let me just show you now. If we go to Google and we see, I’ve typed in best beginner fishing rods just as an example. This right here is a huge rich snippet or featured snippet. You can see the Google term just there. It’s got featured snippets. And it’s come from this one page here. And the reason that it’s come from there is that they have put in some special code which helps Google grab certain content quickly and easily that best answers the person’s search term. Meaning that they have all of this area here at the very top of Google, which is fantastic. And then there’s other ones here as well, like questions and answers that other sites have done. And so this is really good. If you want to dominate your niche and become the top for a specific search term, it’s really good to be able to produce this stuff.

If we just click on it just now. Let’s take a look. There you go. They’ve done it really well because they’ve got the fish and rods right at the beginning to go and buy it. And there’s the article and everything. And it’s obviously a really good article that they’ve done. You can create stuff like this, no problem, of course, with Chat GPT now. Really easy. They’ve got an FAQ, that’s a classic thing, one that we taught in our blog post section that it’s a really good idea to create FAQs. You can get FAQs from all sorts of places like Quora if you want to find out what people are typing in in your niche. And then KeywordTool. Io will also present you with a list of questions that people are asking in your niche too. So how do we get Chat GPT to do this stuff? Okay, so here we are in Chat GPT. Now, what I’ve done is I have given it some information about my page. This may change in the future, as I say, it may be able to just go straight to the page and grab the information. But I’ve pasted in and I’ve put, this is the content for my sales page, and that’s from this page right here.

And then at the end of it, so I’ve given them something to go on, some context and understanding about what it is, my services or my course, whatever. And then I’ve given them the URL as well, because I think that’s going to be important for creating this special code you’re going to put in on your site. And then it says, can you can you create a featured snipp code for this URL to help me rank in Google? Also, let me know how I should add the code to my page. And what it’s done is created that code, but it hasn’t done it right first time. You’ve got to pay attention to this part here. So if I just zoom in there, the type. There are only certain amount of these available, and I’m going… Okay, so here they are. These are the following rich text result types that are supported. And we’ve got bread crumb, data set, event FAQ, fact check, all these different ones, job posting. But the one that I’m going to use for the purpose of this, because effectively what I’m selling with the chat GPT course is a course, it’s a product.

So I’m going to use this product snippet. Now, if you want to find out any more about that, you can just click on it and then it will tell you more about it. And it will help you come up in the search results for shopping when someone types in that particular term like chat GPT course, it will help you come up. So I’ve got it to create the featured snippet, but it picked this type of course, and there is no type of course. So there is no list of those there on the featured snippets. So what we need to do is just to make sure that it picks the right one. And I’m going to have it rewrite that. And you may need to do the same unless you type this in in the very beginning. Could you recreate the code for my featured snippet, but this time with the content type as product? And there we go. It’s rewritten all of the code for me. And this time, as you can see, it’s changed it and it’s done the actual featured snippet for product, which is so important. And because I’ve given it the URL, it’s able to come up with some of this stuff.

It’s also put in the URL successfully just here. The only thing you’ll perhaps want to watch out for is this one where it says image, that image will 99 times out of 100 not exist. And that’s an image that will come up in the shopping there. So it’s important to get an image from your site. What I did was literally go down to the image that I wanted to appear, which was this one. And then I can click Copy image address by right clicking on it and then just adjust that code. I can paste that in there instead. And just make sure everything’s okay, like the price and all of that stuff. And when you’re happy with it, you can click Copy code and then go to your site. And in this case, this is my site. I’m going to go here and I’m going to go to Settings, Custom Code, and then I’m going to go to Page Head Code, and there it is. There’s the code in there. It’s probably better to adjust it here, to be honest with you, than trying to do it within ChatGBT’s code. Just adjust it here, make sure it’s all okay.

And now you can test this code. You can test it to make sure it’s working. If you just copy the code, you can go to another site here of Google’s. Let me just go through this. There it is. It’s called search.google. Com forward stroke test rich dash results. And I’ll put a link to it underneath. But you can take either your URL if you want it to go scour your URL, or you can just paste in that code, which I’m going to do just there. And then you click test code, and it will go and have a look and make sure it understands all of that code, and that hopefully you’re going to get the benefit of going into the search results and getting that extra exposure. So yeah, we’ve got just a whole bunch of nice green ticks. That’s what you’re looking for. The noncritical issue is exactly that. It’s just an optional thing I could have put in just there. There you go, price valid until if it was on a limited offer of some sort. Don’t need to do that. And there you go. So you’ve now successfully created a rich snippet for your site that will get you more exposure.

And as I say, there are others as well. You don’t just have to do that. But Google’s own explanation of what it is, it says basically here, Google search results sometimes show listings where the snippet describing a page comes before a link to a page. Not after, as with our standard format, results displayed this way are called featured snippets. You might find featured snippets on their own within overall search results or within the People Also Ask section. So that’s usually at the bottom of the search results. Let’s have a look. If we go back to the search results, that’s usually right down here and down here. So hopefully this will get you some more traffic to your site. I don’t see why not. It really will give you that extra bit of exposure and get you in the search engines in a way that perhaps you haven’t already. So that’s just about it now for the trading for SEO. These are some useful things that you can do to your website and sales funnels using Chat GPT. So we’ve covered the ability to rewrite content that you already have to improve it. You can generate new content using writing styles and tones.

We can create meta titles and descriptions. We can also check grammar of any of our content. And then also, finally, we can create featured snippets, which will enable us to get more real estate on Google and hopefully more money. All right, that’s it for SEO. If you’ve got any comments about this, then just post it into the community or under the video if you’re able to do that. And I’ll see you in the next training video.
